The game could use a baby warning for when a baby is born cus sometimes it lags and the mom is at the edge of view and then gone
Don’t the babies start to cry once they’re born?
If they have left you they probably have the volume turned off or they don’t want you because they’re either busy or else.

I’ll admit that I sometimes play with the volume turned down and in the family tree notice I lost a couple along the way on an eve run.
Look at it this way: Maybe the person is new and you’re better off with a new spawn. Maybe they do just want a solo run, though I think those should be done in the tutorial.
It is what it is. Shrug it off.
