Eve petition

I happen to be acquaintances with a community manager. Here’s her LinkedIn and Quora profile if you want to check it out.

Oh, and this is the website I know her from where she’s a community manager.

So if you want to punish a player for dumping babies, how about if a person has more then X babies die before 3, they lose eve spawn? Add that onto my previous suggestion holding babies til 3 and losing eve spawn if you die before 40 and you have an unbeatable loop regarding eve spawns.

I really don’t like the live to 60 thing because sometimes I’ll spawn in to play for 30 minutes, help wherever ive spawned into and go away to silently die.

Saying every baby must live is well… not fair because stuff happens. On both ends. If I have 3 health and have a baby, sorry I’m running to food. Maybe if there was a way to control if you had babies or not. During rush some people pop out baby after baby, if you aren’t in a well developed civ (or an eve) this can destroy any chance of living.

If i was better at coding I would def apply.

@Christoffer you are a dev right? Your job is to develop a game, not babysit forums. Maybe a forum admin wouldn’t be a bad idea. (Not volunteering) Then you could focus on the game more then the drama.
Btw, any thought on my suggestions?

I also suggested having server view based on main language to help with the jap overpopulation on english servers, which seems to have worked great. We can still get on each others servers but its more involved now so it doesn’t happen nearly as often. Idk if you’re still working on the “auto server select” but I’m happy with how its developed now.

Hmm when your mom runs far off screen its usualy not because they are abandoning you. Its because they are working or grabing food. Typically the player has a idea of how long it will take for their baby to starve especially if they’ve plopped the baby down on the fire or on the corner of the dessert or jungle tile. If the baby shows signs of controling their temprature the mom will leave the baby for longer times. I personally dont spend much time worrying about my babbies since 9 out of ten of them always make it to three years old even when im a eve. But after that its not my responsibility i have to get farms and clay done if i dont have any children that know how to. Eve camp is to early to teach unless its doomed.
But yah ive lost a few kids because i come back and the kid panicked and ran off to find me or food. Then you see them running back towards their spot. About thirty seconds later and starve before you can grab them.

At this point it doesnt really matter what goes into this thread Christopher already said they made their decision. So might as well try and get this thread past the mark for whatever that badge was lol

nope, actually my situations is I born at the second with my mum not on the screen due to lag. My mum didn’t feed me once LOL, she probably keep on running and abandon me. I always stand still if my mum fed me and put me down, if she told me to follow then I will follow. I am a good baby LOL

Hi again,

There wasn’t really any strong support for testing this, but a lot of argument against it. So, we will roll back this change before we release this week’s update. We will remain with the gold standard for now.

I encourage you to continue making your wishes heard, but I will clarify one thing: if you really have the ambition to have an impact on the direction, then your suggestions need to take our problem statements into account. In this case it was:

Suggestions that don’t take these into account, or even contradicts them, are unlikely to happen.
In this thread, most of your suggestions were clearly contradicting (3), which means that they failed to address the problem.

The problem “I want to play solo” already has an identified solution (private servers) which is being developed. You don’t need to solve that. Concentrate on ideas that will make the standard game better.

Thanks!

She isn’t my Mom. That’s just weird. This is why we desperately need someone to moderate the forum. Few can keep such strange questions to themselves.

Totally agree. Certain people have been off topic, abusive, abrasive, making multiple replies to individual comment and spamming the threads, rude and obnoxious.

It fine to have heated debate but that type of behaviour is unacceptable.

The forums for the PC version have been moderated, using clear rules, by trusted community members appointed as moderators. Toxic behaviour is not permitted.

I have to partially disagree with you, @BadKat. It is true that there are moderators on the PC forum, but the rules leave a lot of room for toxicity (the foundational principle is freedom of speech), and there is more of it there than here.
The rules of civility here are stricter, by our conscious decision. Here you are not allowed to make posts that are mainly to badmouth someone else, at least not using strong language. There is no rule against that on the PC forum (or there didn’t use to be), but we wanted it here.

A moderator or two would be nice. Are there any volunteers?

Alright so for 2, instead of a eve spiral it’s an eve circle. It stays in the same spot and in total it could revolve around 100(+) eve spawns per full loop.

For 3 then put baby abandonment penalties, like if you become a “bad mom” you stop having kids completely. I thought this was already a feature but I may be wrong. After which you receive a curse for every 2 kids that starved. (This last bit is up to debate,I don’t know whats a fitting punishment for starving kids right now)

Then kids that just suicide cannot become eves in their next life, only when they reach 60, but they have no chance to lose their last eve spawn if they die before 60 as a child to someone else.

For it to become an actually group game things need to come back full circle instead of the eve spiral. I know plenty of people are thinking of themselves as expert eve spiral trackers but it’s still completely random no matter how much you follow it.

I’d be glad to volunteer!
